Shape Optimization of an Arterial Bypass in Cardiovascular Systems
A high performance numerical technique in the study of aorto-coronaric bypass anastomoses configurations using steady Stokes equations is presented. The problem is first expressed as an optimal control problem. Then, by using an embedding method, the class of admissible shapes is replaced by a class of positive Borel measures. The optimization problem in measure space is then approximated by ...
متن کاملdesign of an analog fuzzy logic controller chip
fuzzy logic has been developed over the past three decades into a widely applied techinque in classification and control engineering. today fuzzy logic control is one of the most important applications of fuzzy set theory and specially fuzzy logic. there are two general approachs for using of fuzzy control, software and hardware. integrated circuits as a solution for hardware realization are us...

We present multi-level geometrical approaches in the study of aorto-coronaric bypass anastomoses configurations. The theory of optimal control based on adjoint formulation is applied in order to optimize the shape of the incoming branch of the bypass (the toe) into the coronary. At this level two possible options are available in shape design: one implements local boundary variations in computa...
متن کاملA multipurpose arterial graft holder for coronary artery bypass grafting.
A multipurpose arterial graft holder designed for use during coronary artery bypass grafting is described. This new holder is atraumatic and holds the arterial grafts and saphenous vein graft securely during anastomosis. The use of this instrument facilitates the use of multiple arterial grafts for coronary artery bypass grafting.
